“IN THE BUSINESS TO COLLABORATE AND CREATE”
Our purpose is to create and collaborate with inclusive environments that empower people to be themselves. This is our DNA.
It was all a dream. Kind of…
In October of 2019, founders Dario Durham and Darrian Lewis, started B Posi+ive Productions not because we wanted to, but because we had to. On the cusp of our first collaborative arts album, We Spoke This into Existence, we needed a label to release the album under. As we sat and thought, we already had our podcast, B Posi+ive: The Chicago Stories, up and running. Maybe it was a lack of creativity. Maybe it was the perfect amount of creativity. Darrian said we should just call it “B Posi+ive Productions”. A bit under the gun and not knowing how to navigate these uncharted waters, that name stuck! Ever since, it has evolved from a last minute idea to a business that holds true to the mindset of resilience.
Since, we have produced countless shows across Chicago, providing multi-platform opportunities for over 600 different artists of all walks of life. From 2 top 5 comedy albums, to empowering women and non-binary individuals to be themselves in a safe space, the art is just the tip of the iceberg.
To the future and beyond.
The plan is to create an environment that allows the next generation of artists to thrive without restraint. Our long term vision is to see a shift in the Chicago entertainment culture where it is inclusive, built around teamwork, and is uplifting regardless of the person’s demographic. To do so, we look to the youth. We believe the youth have tremendous potential for creativity. When given the space and opportunity, these minds can grow the skills that are useful in all aspects of life.
B Posi+ive Productions will be at the forefront of this new wave.
The message of positivity is bold, ambitious, and truthful to who we are. Understanding people and working to create opportunities is what we do. Together we will create a new landscape that is built for sustained success on an individual scale and on a much bigger one.
